The game

Is Gold Below free? The first ten floors are free for good, with four heroes and the Daily Descent to floor 10. One purchase opens the other twenty floors and the rest. See free and full game.

Are there ads, energy or things to buy with gems? No. No ads, no energy, no paid currency. Gold and gems are earned in a run and spent in that run.

Does it need the internet? No. Runs play offline. The board, the Dragon's Hoard, cloud save and purchases need a connection.

What does it run on? iPhone and Android phones, in portrait.

Which languages? English, German, Czech, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese. See settings and languages.

Playing

How do I merge? Drag a piece onto another of the same piece at the same rarity, or just buy one you already own: it merges by itself. See merging.

What is the gold "+" on a tile? You own its twin. They would merge.

What is "LV" on a card? The floor the piece was found on. Flat stats grow 19% a floor, so a deeper find is stronger at the same rarity.

What does "x2" after a set's letters mean? On a market or merchant offer, it is how many pieces of that set you would wear with it on. Each piece's set stat counts that many times. See how sets work.

Why did my numbers drop when I swapped one piece? It probably broke a set bonus, or lowered the multiplier on your other pieces. The card's "WITHOUT IT" line shows the whole cost before you do it.

How do I get Gilded gear? Only by merging two Mythics of the same piece. See rarities.

Why can't I refresh the market? On the first three floors of a guided run it is locked until the lessons end. Otherwise you can't afford it: the price is under the button.

Where do I pay the Tally? Only at a merchant. See the Tally.

What does "UNYIELDING" mean? A depth boss can't be taken below half health in his first two turns. Damage past that is lost.

Why does a boss have more health than his page says? Each enemy varies a few percent, and an unpaid Tally, a trial or Greed adds more.

Can I undo a merge? Yes: "Split" on the piece's card.

Do health and armor carry over between fights? No. Both are full at the start of every fight.

Progress

What do I keep when I die? Everything you have unlocked: heroes, sets, specializations, Greed levels, treasures carried out, the Codex. Gear, gold and gems end with the run. See unlocks.

Where does my gold go when I die? To the Dragon's Hoard, one pot shared by every player.

Can I win that gold? You can take the pot's title: be the first player in a month to win a Season Descent. The prize is your name on the hoard.

How do I unlock the other heroes? Brannoch: end a run on floor 10. Anselm: leave 1,000 gold to the dragon across your deaths. Pip: get past floor 20. Ilse: win a run.

How do I unlock locked sets? Win battles wearing two or more pieces of the partner set. The list is on the sets page.

Daily and board

Is the Daily the same for everyone? Yes: same hero, same trials, same dungeon. Only your first try of the day is ranked. See Daily Descent.

How is the board ranked? Daily: a win, then deeper floor, then fewer turns. All time: checked wins, then deepest floor. See the board.

What is the code on the end screen? A seed code: enter it at hero select to play the same dungeon again.

Your phone

How do I move my progress to a new phone? Sign in under Settings, Cloud, on both. See cloud save.

I bought the full game and it is locked again. Open the offer and tap "Restore purchase", signed in to the same store account.

How do I change the language? Settings from the title, then the globe.
