Seed codes and Replay
Same code, same descent: floors, foes and luck.
The code
Every end screen carries a quiet line at its foot: "CODE K7QM-3XTB-9W2D", "COPY" and "REPLAY". (For your first few runs it shows "REPLAY" alone.) The code is twelve characters in three groups of four, and it holds everything that makes a run that run: the hero and whether their specialization was on, the Greed level, the trials, which unlockable sets were closed, and the seed.
Because every random thing in the game is drawn from the seed, the same code gives the same dungeon: the same enemies in the same order, the same market offers, the same drops for the same choices.
Entering one
At hero select, the "Code" button sits beside Descend once you have played a run. Type or paste the code; the panel reads it back as you go, such as "Pip (Fence) - Greed 3 - Fury - all sets". A code with one wrong character is caught: "That code doesn't read right. Check the letters." The letters I, L, O and U are never used, so an O is read as a zero.
A code only starts what you have opened yourself. If its hero is locked, or its Greed level is not open for you, it says so.
Replay
"REPLAY" starts the same descent again from floor 1, at once. It is the quickest way to try the other door, the other set or the other purchase and see what would have happened.
What a seeded run earns
Nothing but the play: "It earns no records or unlocks." A seeded run or a Replay moves no best floor, wins, heroes, borders, Greed levels or set wins, holds no treasures, feeds nothing to the dragon's hoard and is never sent to the board. It does fill the Codex and gets a Ledger row tagged "seeded". Floor 1's card says "Seeded descent".
A code made by a different version of the rules still starts, with a warning: "A code from other rules: this descent will play differently."
