Effective 7 October 2026

Your progress stays with you.

This policy covers Gold Below, operated by DDTech Solutions LLC, and these support pages.

Local game information

Gold Below stores your current run and equipment, hero and set unlocks, achievements, run history, progression, and sound and gameplay preferences in app storage on your device. These records let you resume play and remember your choices. The game does not transmit them to us, except the results you choose to share on the optional board, the anonymous play statistics, the dragon’s hoard and, if you turn on cloud save, your progress, as described below. Records remain until replaced through play or removed with the app’s local data.

Accounts and advertising

No game account or real name is required; signing in for cloud save is optional. Gold Below has no advertising, cross-app advertising tracking, multiplayer or subscriptions. Version 2.0 does not offer purchases or include RevenueCat. The following purchase practices apply to the upcoming update and later versions that offer the full-game unlock.

Optional Daily Descent board

In versions that include it, anyone can view the Daily Descent board. From version 2.8.3, any player can join it, on the free version too: from Settings, the board screen, a question asked once on the title screen when the game starts, or the question asked after their first Daily Descent. Earlier versions let only players with the full game join. Nothing is sent until you pick a name and tap Join. Before you have joined, the title screen may ask our server how many players are on the board, to show in that question; this request sends nothing about you. You build your display name from two word lists or type your own: 3 to 12 letters and numbers, checked by our server against a list of words that aren't allowed. Names are unique; if another player already has a name from the lists, our server adds a number to it. You can change your name once every 7 days. Joining sends that name to our server, which issues a random player ID that stays on your device. After that, when a Daily Descent ends or you open the board or the title screen, the app sends the day, the floor your first Daily Descent that day reached, whether it broke the curse, how many turns it took and, from version 2.6, the gear your hero ended it in (each piece and its rarity). From version 2.7.1, when any run ends, the app also sends that run’s hero, Greed level, the floor it reached, whether it broke the curse and how many turns it took, so the board’s All time list can rank every run. When a run breaks the curse, the app also sends the run’s record: its starting seed and every action taken in it, such as items bought, moved or sold and the moves chosen in fights, so our server can play the run again with the game’s own rules and confirm the win. The record holds no personal information, and our server deletes it as soon as the check is done. When the check confirms the win, the server keeps only a fingerprint of the record (a short code worked out from it, which can’t be turned back into the record), with your player ID and the time, so the same record can’t count as a win twice. Runs started from a seed code are never sent. If you bought the full game and chose a cosmetic style, it also sends that style, which appears as a small mark beside your name. Other players see your display name, style mark, rank, results and all-time standing (wins, deepest floor, Greed level and how many runs) on the board, and can tap your row to see that day’s hero in your gear.

We keep each daily result, with its gear, for 14 days. For the board’s All time list, our server keeps each reported run (hero, Greed level, floor, win, turns and when it was sent) and your standing: confirmed wins, deepest floor, highest Greed level won at, and how many runs. Your display name, player ID, runs, standing and those fingerprints stay until you leave the board. Leaving the board in Settings deletes your name, player ID, runs, standing, fingerprints and all results from our server. If you delete the app without leaving, contact us with your display name and we will remove it.

The board runs on our own server, hosted by Hetzner Online. Like any web server, it receives your IP address to answer requests. We hold it only briefly in memory to limit abuse, and we do not log or store it. The board is not used for advertising, tracking or analytics, and it is not linked to your purchase records or your RevenueCat ID. The style mark is the only purchase-related detail it shows, and you can hide it by choosing the Classic style.

Board rules

By joining the Daily Descent board you agree to these rules. Your display name must not be offensive or misleading: no slurs, hate, sexual or violent terms, insults aimed at others, personal information such as real names or contact details, and nothing that pretends to be Gold Below, DDTech Solutions or our staff.

Any player can report a typed name by tapping it on the board, or by emailing team@ddtechsolution.com with the name and the day. When three players report a name, it is replaced with a name from the word lists, and its player cannot type a name for 30 days. We review reports and may also remove a name, or remove a player from the board, ourselves. You can hide any player on your own device; hiding stays on your device and tells no one.

When you report a name, our server stores your player ID with the report so each player counts once. Reports are deleted when the reported name changes or either player leaves the board. A record of names removed after reports is kept until that player leaves the board.

The dragon’s hoard

From version 2.3, the gold of every death goes into the dragon’s hoard: one pot that every player’s game feeds, shown on the title screen. When a run ends in a death, the app sends our server the gold it carried, the floor, the hero, whether it was a normal run, a Daily Descent or a Season Descent, and a random ID made for that run alone, so it counts once. This is not linked to your name, your Daily Descent board ID, your play statistics ID, your purchases or your RevenueCat ID. A death without a connection is sent the next time the app is online. The title screen shows the pot, how many players died this season, and the latest deaths by hero, floor and gold, never by name. We keep each death’s record until the end of the season after its own; the pot carried over is all a later season needs.

A Season Descent can take the hoard. It needs a name on the Daily Descent board: starting one sends your board player ID, our server deals the run’s seed and hero, and it records that you played that day, since each player has one try a day. When a Season Descent breaks the curse, the app sends the run’s record: every action taken in it, such as items bought, moved or sold and the moves chosen in fights, so our server can play the run again with the game’s own rules and confirm the win. The record holds no personal information. The first confirmed win of a month takes the hoard, and the winner’s board name then appears on the hoard and in its Hall of Fame on every player’s title screen. We delete a Season Descent’s start and record after 7 days. Winners’ names stay in the Hall of Fame; contact us to have yours removed. The hoard is gold in the game only. It has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game.

The dragon’s hoard runs on the same server as the board, hosted by Hetzner Online. The server receives your IP address to answer requests and to limit abuse, but does not store it.

Anonymous play statistics

From version 2.2, the app sends anonymous play statistics to our own server so we can see how the game is played and fix what is too hard, confusing or broken. Each installation gets a random ID, created on your device, that is not connected to your name, your purchases, your RevenueCat ID or your Daily Descent board ID. The app sends what happens in play: runs started and ended, floors reached, your hero’s equipment and numbers along the way, fights and the actions chosen in them, items bought and sold with in-game gold, rooms visited, lessons seen and help panels opened, your game settings, whether you own the full game, the screen size and language, the app version and platform and whether the copy is a test version, your phone’s model and system version and how smoothly the game runs on it, a short signal every two minutes while the app is open (so we can see how many people play at once), and error reports when something goes wrong. It sends no names, typed text, contacts, location, advertising identifier or information from other apps. On Android, from version 2.2.1, the app also sends where the installation came from, as Google Play reports it: the source, medium and campaign names of the store link that led to it (for example one of our posts, or our ad on Google), and whether it followed an ad click. It never sends the click’s identifier or the rest of the link. We use this only to see which of our links and ads bring players who stay.

We keep these statistics for 400 days and use them only to improve the game. They are never sold or shared, and never used to show you ads or to track you across apps. They are stored on the same server as the board, hosted by Hetzner Online. The server receives your IP address to answer requests but does not store it. You can turn statistics off in Settings → Play data. Turning them off stops sending and deletes this installation’s statistics from our server.

Test versions only: the TestFlight and Google Play test versions have a Settings → Tester code setting for playtesters, for the code we gave them on our Discord server. While a code is entered, the app sends it with this installation’s statistics, so we can see how long each playtester played and how far they got. This links those statistics to you as a playtester. Our server accepts only codes we issued. Removing the code, turning statistics off, installing the store version or leaving the playtest removes the link from our server. Store versions show no such setting and remove a code entered in a test version.

Optional cloud save

From version 2.8, you can sign in with Apple or Google on iPhone, or with Google on Android, in Settings → Cloud to keep a copy of your progress on our server, so a reinstall or a new phone can bring it back. Signing in with Google on both an iPhone and an Android phone keeps one save across them. Nothing is sent until you sign in. Signing in sends our server the sign-in token Apple or Google issues to Gold Below. From it we keep only a scrambled form (a SHA-256 hash) of the account identifier Apple or Google assigns you for our app; we do not ask for or keep your name or email address. For Sign in with Apple, we also keep a token Apple gives us, only so we can revoke Gold Below’s access when you delete your account. While you are signed in, the app sends your game profile after it changes: the same progress the game keeps on your device, such as your runs and their results, best floors, unlocked heroes and sets, items and enemies seen, lessons, and Ledger and Daily Descent records. Your settings, tester code and any run in progress stay on your device. We keep the latest copy, the time it was saved, and a random session code for each signed-in device. Your cloud save is not linked to your Daily Descent board ID, your play statistics ID, your purchases or your RevenueCat ID, and it is not used for advertising, tracking or analytics.

Signing out stops this device from saving to the cloud. Settings → Cloud → Delete account deletes your account, sign-in record and cloud save from our server at once and revokes Gold Below’s Sign in with Apple access; your device keeps its own progress. If you no longer have the app, install it, sign in with the same Apple or Google account and delete from there, or email us and we will help (see Delete your account). We delete accounts that have not been used for two years. Cloud save runs on the same server as the board, hosted by Hetzner Online, over encrypted connections. The server receives your IP address to answer requests and limit abuse but does not store it. See Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies for how they handle signing in.

Optional full-game purchase

Versions with the full-game unlock use Apple App Store or Google Play, together with RevenueCat, to process, validate and restore purchases and provide purchase analytics. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous app user ID, purchase history and transaction information, including product identifiers, purchase times, price, currency and entitlement status. Technical information such as app and platform version and storefront helps operate the purchase service. We do not provide RevenueCat with your name, email, advertising identifier or local run history. We cannot link its anonymous app user ID to your real identity. Apple or Google handles payment information; we and RevenueCat do not receive your card details.

Purchase records are used for app functionality, fraud prevention, restoration and purchase analytics, not cross-app advertising tracking. RevenueCat may process data internationally and retain records for these purposes and legal obligations. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy Apple’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. The first depth is free to play offline. Access beyond the free depth on iOS and Android requires a full-game entitlement or a preserved eligible legacy profile. Buying and restoring require an internet connection. The iOS full-game purchase supports Apple Family Sharing. This does not imply sharing of the Google Play in-app purchase. Deleting the app does not erase store transaction records or automatically delete RevenueCat records. Contact us for privacy requests; we may need transaction details to locate a purchase and will explain any required retention.

Store and device services

Apple, Google and your operating system may handle downloads, backups, diagnostics and testing feedback according to your settings and their policies. Backups may include local game data. We do not operate those services.

Website hosting and analytics

Opening a website link uses your browser and Cloudflare, our website hosting and security provider. Cloudflare processes technical request information such as IP addresses and browser/request details to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare may use security cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing, international transfers and retention practices.

From 7 October 2026, these pages use DataFast for website analytics, so we can see how many people visit and which posts, links and ads bring them. When you open a page, DataFast’s script sends DataFast the page address, the page that linked you here, any ad click identifier in the link (such as one added by Google, Meta or TikTok ads), your browser’s language and time zone, your window and screen size, and a random visitor ID and session ID. Like any web server, DataFast receives your IP address with these requests. The script keeps the visitor ID, when you first visited and how many visits you have made in cookies on this website for one year, and the session ID for 30 minutes. Website analytics is not linked to the game: not to your play statistics ID, your board name or player ID, your cloud save, your purchases or your RevenueCat ID. We use it only to understand visits to this website, never for advertising. To opt out, block cookies or scripts for this website in your browser. These pages have no advertising tags, forms or other third-party embeds, and fonts and images are hosted with the website. See DataFast’s privacy policy for how it processes and keeps this information.

Support correspondence

If you contact team@ddtechsolution.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide. Saves and screenshots are not attached automatically. We use correspondence only to answer support requests and investigate problems. We do not sell it or use it for marketing. We retain it only as long as needed for support or applicable legal obligations.

Your choices

You can adjust your preferences in Settings, join or leave the Daily Descent board, and turn anonymous play statistics on or off there. A death’s gold always goes to the dragon’s hoard, anonymously, as described above; Season Descents are optional. Deleting the app removes this installation’s local game data. Offloading the app or removing its Home Screen icon is different. Backups may retain copies until you manage them through device or cloud backup settings. If you use cloud save, signing in again brings your progress back. Otherwise we cannot recover saves, because the game does not upload them.

To request access to or deletion of support correspondence, contact team@ddtechsolution.com. We will review your request and explain any information that must be retained for legal obligations. Deleting the app does not delete emails you already sent.

Security and audience

Game data is stored in the app’s local storage without custom game-level encryption. Cloud saves travel over encrypted connections and are stored on our server. Device security and backup protection depend on your operating system and settings. The game contains stylized fantasy combat and monsters. Consult its age rating in your app store. We do not request birth dates or perform age verification.

Updates and contact

We will update this policy and its effective date if these practices change. Contact DDTech Solutions LLC at team@ddtechsolution.com for privacy questions.
