Brannoch
He held the gate. His company never came back up. Hits with his armor. Slow, hard to kill.
Skill: Shield Bash
Deal damage equal to 70% of your current
armor.
70% of the armor you have at that moment. Enemy armor does not soak it, so cast it while your armor is full: at a fight's start, or the turn after a GUARD. Like every skill it costs mana only: it has no cooldown and does not end your turn.
Passive: Stalwart
Guard restores 60%
armor instead of 40%.
GUARD also gives 1 mana and halves the blows of that enemy turn, as for every hero. With five Bulwark pieces on top, armor comes back fast enough to make Shield Bash his main attack.
Specialization: Ironclad
End a turn with full
armor: +10%
power for the battle.
It is checked as each turn ends: if you have all your armor, you gain 10% power for the rest of the battle. The gains stack.
A specialization replaces the passive; you play one or the other. Brannoch's opens when Brannoch's own best floor is 20 or deeper, and you switch it in the hero's details at hero select. The Daily Descent and the Season Descent always use the base passive.
Base stats
Brannoch starts every run with +28
health, +10
armor, +3
power, +50%
crit damage, +3
mana, a Rusty Shortsword and 30 gold (more with the Endurance trial or the Pilfered Crown). Everything else comes from gear. What each number does is on the stats page.
Good with
Hero select names three sets that suit Brannoch. Any hero can wear any set; these are a starting point.
Bulwark Be the wall.
- 2+40%
armor. - 3Guarding bashes your target for 40% of your armor.
- 5Armor also soaks arcane damage. Start each turn with +15% armor.
Thornwood Let them hurt themselves.
- 2Attackers take
thorns equal to 10% of your max health. - 3Regenerate 6%
health each turn. - 5+50%
health. Thorns deal triple.
Rimeglass Freeze them solid.
- 2Strikes apply 1
chill. 3 chill freezes: the enemy skips its turn. - 3+40%
armor. +50% damage to frozen enemies. - 5Frozen enemies below 25% health shatter.
What the bosses say
Each boss has one line kept for Brannoch, said once, at the start of a fight.
Unlocking Brannoch
While locked, hero select says: "Reach floor 10 to unlock." End any run on floor 10 or deeper. Standing on floor 10 is enough: the Tallyman need not fall. This is inside the free game. The check runs when a run ends, and a Daily Descent or a seed-code run does not count.
