Tilde
Kept the vault's chests forty years. One of them kept her. Feeds her gear to a chest. It bites for her.
Skill: Fetch
Tuppence bites the target for 200% of its bite. If that kills, it brings back a piece of gear.
Tuppence bites twice over: 60% of your power plus arcana, and 2% more for each tooth. It is one physical blow, so armor soaks it, and it can't crit. If it kills, a piece of gear drops into your stash, etched a quarter of the time, on top of whatever the kill drops anyway. A minion or a summoned enemy brings back nothing, and neither does an undying enemy that only rises again. Like every skill it costs mana only: it has no cooldown and does not end your turn.
Passive: Tuppence
After each ATTACK her chest bites the target for 30% of
power +
arcana, +1% a tooth. Drop gear on her portrait to feed it teeth.
Tuppence bites after every ATTACK: your target, or the first enemy standing if your strikes killed it. A bite is one physical blow of its own, not a strike: armor soaks it, it can't crit, nothing that rides on your strikes comes with it, and it is weakened when you are. Tilde can't absorb: her portrait is Tuppence's bowl (see below).
Specialization: Watchdog
ATTACK no longer sends Tuppence. GUARD does: it bites every enemy for 80% of its bite.
ATTACK no longer sends Tuppence. Every GUARD does: it bites each enemy standing for 80% of its bite, so 24% of your power plus arcana with no teeth and 56% at 40. GUARD still restores armor, gives mana and halves the enemies' blows, so her safest move becomes her blow. Feeding works as before.
A specialization replaces the passive; you play one or the other. Tilde's opens when Tilde's own best floor is 20 or deeper, and you switch it in the hero's details at hero select. The Daily Descent and the Season Descent always use the base passive.
Tuppence and its teeth
The first time it matters on a run with Tilde, the game tells you:
Tuppence eats gear: drop a piece on her portrait to grow its teeth.
Feed it gear and it grows teeth. Drop a piece on Tilde's portrait, or tap "Feed" on the piece's card, in a fight or out of one: from the bag, from what she wears or from the stash. It eats the piece ("Tuppence ate it: +3 teeth") and the teeth stay for the run. A worn piece takes its stats with it, as a sale would. The tooth on the corner of her portrait counts them.
| Rarity fed | Teeth |
|---|---|
| Common | 1 |
| Uncommon | 2 |
| Rare | 3 |
| Epic | 4 |
| Legendary | 5 |
| Mythic | 6 |
| Gilded | 6 |
At 40 teeth it eats no more: "Tuppence has all its teeth". What a tooth is worth:
| Teeth | Bite | Fetch | Watchdog |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 30% | 60% | 24% |
| 10 | 40% | 80% | 32% |
| 20 | 50% | 100% | 40% |
| 40 | 70% | 140% | 56% |
Shares of your power plus arcana: the bite after each ATTACK, Fetch's, and Watchdog's on each enemy. Tuppence shows what you have fed it:

What the bosses say
Each boss has one line kept for Tilde, said once, at the start of a fight.
Unlocking Tilde
While locked, hero select says: "Beat 5 Coin Mimics to unlock." Slay 5 Coin Mimics on the battles you win. A Coin Mimic is the elite of the free Cellars' floor 5 (and of floor 9 half the time), and one chest in four is one, so she comes in the free game. The Coin Mimics are counted on every battle won, a Daily Descent's or a dive's too but not a seed-code run's, and she joins you when a normal run ends.
