Ratcatcher
Poison the pack.
Set bonuses
Wear 2, 3 or 5 Ratcatcher pieces and each tier below switches on. They add up: at five pieces you have all three.
- 2Strikes apply 1
poison. - 3+30% damage to poisoned enemies.
- 5Enemies with 5 or more
poison are weakened.
The fine print
- 2 pieces. Every strike adds 1 poison. Poison on an enemy never wears off. See poison.
- 3 pieces. A poisoned enemy takes 30% more damage from everything.
- 5 pieces. An enemy that reaches 5 poison is weakened for 2 turns, again each time more poison lands.
How it plays
The game's own set card sums Ratcatcher up in three lines:
Poison stacks and never fades. Dodge.
- Strong against: Long fights. Mother Brine.
- Weak against: Spiked foes. Avarax wipes the poison.
The set stat
Every Ratcatcher piece has one stat, its set stat, that is multiplied by how many Ratcatcher pieces you wear. Two pieces double each one's set stat, five pieces count it five times. That is why a third and fourth piece are worth more than their own numbers suggest. See how sets work.
Pieces
Nine pieces: one for each of the seven slots, a second weapon and a second ring (you wear two rings). Stats shown are Common, found on floor 1.
| Piece | Slot | Stats | Set stat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Head | +3 +3 +3% | +3% | |
| Neck | +3 +3% | +3% | |
| Chest | +6 +5 +3% | +3% | |
| Weapon | +4 +6% | +4 | |
| Legs | +3 +3 +3% | +3% | |
| Ring | +6% | +6% | |
| Feet | +2 +2 +4% | +4% | |
| Weapon | +4 +3% | +4 | |
| Ring | +4% | +4% |
Synergies
Two pieces of Ratcatcher with two pieces of another set wake a synergy:
- Plague with Bloodbound: Poisoned enemies also gain 1
bleed when they act.
Finding it
Ratcatcher pieces appear from floor 1 on, in The Gilt Cellars and below. Loot leans toward the sets you already wear: each Ratcatcher piece on you makes the next one more likely, and while you wear two or more the floor market and the merchant offer a piece you are missing.
