Set bonuses

Wear 2, 3 or 5 Emberforged pieces and each tier below switches on. They add up: at five pieces you have all three.

The fine print

• 2 pieces. Every strike that lands and does not kill adds 1 burn. See burn for what a stack does.
• 3 pieces. Each burn stack deals twice its usual damage.
• 5 pieces. When an enemy dies with burn on it, all of its stacks are added to every enemy still standing.

How it plays

The game's own set card sums Emberforged up in three lines:

Strikes burn. Burn skips armor and dodge.

• Strong against: Armor, packs, Mother Brine.
• Weak against: Avarax's big blows and second life.

The set stat

Every Emberforged piece has one stat, its set stat, that is multiplied by how many Emberforged pieces you wear. Two pieces double each one's set stat, five pieces count it five times. That is why a third and fourth piece are worth more than their own numbers suggest. See how sets work.

Pieces

Nine pieces: one for each of the seven slots, a second weapon and a second ring (you wear two rings). Stats shown are Common, found on floor 1.

Synergies

Two pieces of Emberforged with two pieces of another set wake a synergy:

• Wildfire with Stormcall: Arcs and lightning apply 1 burn.
• Witchfire with Hexweave: Weakened enemies take double burn.
• Wyrmfire with Wyrmscale: Your burn deals +50% damage.

Heroes

Hero select lists Emberforged as a good fit for Wren and Ilse. Any hero can wear it.

Finding it

Emberforged pieces appear from floor 1 on, in The Gilt Cellars and below. Loot leans toward the sets you already wear: each Emberforged piece on you makes the next one more likely, and while you wear two or more the floor market and the merchant offer a piece you are missing.
