A Heavy Chest
One chest stands in each depth for certain, on floor 3, 6 or 9, and a fork may offer another. Before it opens the game says: "Something rattles inside, and the lock is warm. 1 chest in 4 bites back."
What is inside
Press "Open it". Three times in four, the light under the lid climbs through the rarities to the item's own and one item rises: "Tap to take".
- A piece of gear one rarity above the floor's usual roll, never etched.
- 10% of the time a unique instead; 10% of the time, from floor 11, a Gilding Leaf.
- 15% of the time one of the depth's treasures you have not carried out yet takes its place.
The Coin Mimic
One chest in four is a Coin Mimic: "It was a Coin Mimic!" It fights alone, as an elite at that floor's strength, and pays like one: three times a kill's gold, a gem and a piece of etched gear. The chest's item is gone, and after the fight you go straight to the next floor. The first three floors of a guided first run have no mimics.
