Etchings

Some pieces come etched: extra lines on top of their own, marked by gold notches on the tile.

Tiers

TierStat linesAn extraAdds to price
IOne30% of the time+35%
IITwo60% of the time+70%
IIITwo, raised by halfAlways+105%

A tile shows one gold notch per tier on its bottom edge, and the card lists the etching under "ETCHING I", "ETCHING II" or "ETCHING III".

Stat lines

Each line is one of these, at Common on floor 1. Like the piece's own stats, a line grows with the piece's rarity, and flat lines with its level too, so an etching is worth more on a better piece.

LineLineLine
+3 health+2 armor+1 power
+1 arcana+1 thorns+1 regen
+3% crit chance+12% crit damage+5% pierce
+2% leech+8% gold find+3% dodge
+6% health+6% armor+6% power
+6% arcana+1 mana+1 strikes

Strikes and mana are the rarest lines. Tier III raises every line by half except those two.

Extras

An extra is one of three things:

PerkWhat it does

ReaperStrikes finish enemies below 10% health.
BloodthirstKills restore 8% of your max health.
RampartKills restore 15% of your armor.
EchoEvery 4th strike strikes again.
SpiteWhen an enemy hits you, 30% chance to strike it back.
TitheKills pay 30% more gold.
FocusStart each battle with 2 extra mana.

Where etched gear comes from

Moving and improving

At a merchant, select an etched piece:

When two pieces merge, the result keeps the higher-tier etching. Splitting leaves the etching on the original. Unmaking a piece at an altar keeps its etching's stat lines along with its own, but not a perk or a set count.
