Bag, gear and stash
Under the fight is your board: what you wear, what you carry and what just dropped.
The board
- Gear: 8 sockets in two columns: head and neck, chest and weapon, legs and a ring, feet and a second ring. An empty socket shows a faint outline of what goes in it.
- Bag: 20 slots. Anything fits. Tonics, flasks and the Gilt Heart work from here.
- Stash: where enemy drops land. It holds 8 (the Hoarder's Sack adds 4, the Reliquary Key 1). Open it with the bag chip at the foot of the fight.
- Market: the shelf of four at the bottom. See the market.
Everything on the board can be moved at any time that a turn is not playing, in a fight too, and none of it ends your turn.
Wearing things
Drag a piece onto a socket of its kind, or tap it and press "Equip". Equip puts it where it does the most good: onto its twin (they merge), else into an empty socket, else in place of the piece it improves on most. A piece you buy or take goes on by itself when its socket is empty.
The stash
Loot waits in the stash for the whole run, until you take it or sell it. "Take all" takes whatever has a twin or a free bag slot; "Sell all" asks twice. If the stash is full when something drops, the drop is sold on the spot: "Stash full: loot sold". A boss's treasure is kept even then.
The marks on a tile
| Mark | Where | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Coloured rim and corner marks | All round | Its rarity. Longer corners, rarer piece. |
| Two letters | Top left | Its set, in the set's colour. "EM" is Emberforged. |
| "x2", "x3" | After the letters | On an offer: how many of that set you would wear with it. |
| Gold "+" | Top right | You own its twin. They would merge. |
| Gold notches | Bottom edge | An etching, one notch per tier. |
| Green arrows | Bottom left | Wearing it would make you stronger. Two arrows: much stronger. |
| Red cross | Bottom right | Wearing it would switch a set bonus or synergy off. |
| Padlock | Top left | A locked market offer. |
| Dimmed | Whole tile | Can't be afforded, or already used this battle. |
The green arrows show on tiles through your first run and then step back; Settings, Hints, Arrows brings them back or hides them. The card's "IF EQUIPPED" block always shows the real numbers.
An item's card
Tap any piece. Its card shows, top to bottom: the name in its rarity's colour with "LV" (the floor it was found on); what would change if you wore it, or took it off; its own stats; its etching; its set and the next bonus; then up to four buttons. Depending on where you are those are Equip or Unequip, Use, Learn, Absorb, Extract, Deepen, Unmake, Temper, Split and Sell. Long-press a button to read what it does.
Absorb
Once per battle you may destroy one piece of gear, worn or carried, for 150% of its stats until the battle ends: "Absorb: destroy it for 150% of its stats this battle, once per battle". Drag the piece onto your portrait, or use its card's button. The piece is gone for good, so a set it completed can break. It is a way to turn a spare into one fight's worth of power, or to win a fight you would otherwise lose.
